Gremlin cz 858

I don't know if it "similar" to the gremlin or "is" the gremlin...but when I shot my 858 non-R, for the first time, within 20 rounds the trigger didn't seem to reset, twice.

1st time, I cleared the gun...pulled the mag, empty chamber. Checked gun..OK. Reload, keep shooting.

2nd time, I knew it felt like it was not resetting..so I pushed the trigger forward...felt a little click...trigger had reset, then I shot the round.

So...could someone else who has the "gremlin" try pushing the trigger forward to see if that is the problem. (or am I WAY off-base here :redface:)

PS...I haven't had any problems with it since then.

That is definitely a problem, but not "THE Gremlin" in my opinion. Your problem sounds related to spring tension or binding of trigger group parts.

Did you buy your rifle new or used? Perhaps someone did some tinkering? :)

As long as it hasn't occurred since you should be ok, but I'd suggest a $100 parts (i.e. Wolverine) kit for future anyway; I just bought one as well, they include everything you'd ever need.

The disconnect "Gremlin" is pretty easy to recreate and so far I am 100% on all the 858's I've handled (having "The Gremlin"); I'm going to send off carrier this week to get tabbed which fixes "the Gremlin" 100%~ :D

Both "Rauch Tactical" and "Neit Arms" are offering the service... I'm sure either would be fine.

I have two carriers so I may have to send one to each :)
 
$35, no worries. Easy job, 1-2 day turnaround depending on what we have on our plate at the time. I don't have any pics but I've done a couple dozen+ this month alone. I'm sure one of the guys can post the mod.
 
Is this something that should be done regardless if the problem appears? Could it happen after a few hundreds rounds? Any 858 owners wanna chime in?

I'm getting a brand new NR 858 tomorrow night,the cocking handle is being sent to Neit for the ak47 handle mod, then to Rauch for coating and lining.

Trying to cover all bases before going out to shoot, I dont want to spend the time / money to not have it operate correctly.

You are doing a lot of work to the carrier... what's another $35 :)
The "tab" IMO is essential. Do it.

I'm sending off my carrier tonight for the 2 day turnaround ;)
The "tab" ensures you will never ever experience the "The Gremlin."

I msg'd rauch, but they haven't gotten back to me in detail. I believe I sent you a PM to be put on the order list for the new mag release/bolt release. Can you confirm? Also if you wouldn't mind hooking me up with your info, I would really like to have my carrier tabbed, especially for that lower pricepoint ;) I can send it out as soon as tomorrow - you wont have to send it back until the new parts are available for order and shipment. I can just pay it all on the one invoice. Cheers.
