Rounds and empties stay in the bolt,. Brass is Hornady, bolt and bcg is Odin. Weak spring? Bolt face diameter to tight?, Brass diameter too large? What to try first?

Cheers

That's bizarre for sure. Something is out of spec and I'd suspect it would be the bolt. Is that the only bolt and ammo you have to try?
My Hornady ammo seems fine in a Brownell's bcg.

Took extractor and ejector off, definitely a brass to bolt face diameter issue. Interference fit as seen below. Can anyone confirm what the Hornady Brass normally measures on the the rim

First you have to figure out what barrel then match the correct bolt to the correct barrel. There are type 1s with .125 bolt face depth which is considered the original Grendel bolt, while there are also Type 2 at .136 identical to the 7.62x39mm.

2 Rifles with Odin barrels and BCGs in 6.5 Grendel. Both had trouble ejecting Starline brass. It would get hooked on the extractor as it ejected and would stovepipe and get swapped end for end inside the action.

Hornady brass works fine though, so I'm surprised by yours. I would contact Odin, maybe your bolt is out of spec.

Appears to be out of spec bolt. I contacted Odin. I've had it for a year waiting for my MDI receivers so might be out of luck. Odin been really good to me so far so hopefully they will help out still

Good to know, I was just going to order Starline brass, guess I'll have to try and find some more Hornady.

If they won't warranty it at least it should be a quick and easy fix to open up the bolt face a hair.

I actually think that a little polish of the extractor blade would fix it, but since I don't have a spare extractor I'm not going to experiment.

I was considering ordering a bulk box of 3000 Hornady brass but would need to sell half of it, and not sure how much demand there is.

FWIW, lapua brass is .439" also.

I would probably be interested in some since the cost of Lapua Grendel brass is nuts right now
