I've been working on a Grendel load using Lapua 123gr Scenars and IMR 8208 XBR.
I have Lapua brass and Federal 205M primers. This is for a bolt gun. The data I have for 123 gr. bullets lists
25.5gr to 28.5gr of powder. With the length of the Scenars I get to about 27.4gr of powder and I think
the powder starts to compress. The powder is at the shoulder area and shaking the cartridges doesn't really
make any sound.
Has anyone tried this recipe?
Any advice?
TIA

I use Lapua brass, CCI BR primers, 123 gr. Scenars, IMR 8208 xor. Very accurate load in my Ruger Ranch. Also use Starline brass. CCI 450 mag primers, Imr 8208, 123 Scenars, another accurate load.

definitely back off switching to D8208BR, the lot# I Have is much faster burning than any IMR 8208xbr I've shot

26grs IMR 8208
123gr eld m
18” barrel
Lapua brass
Cci mag primers

Sub moa out to 600m
Far exceeds the accuracy I was looking to get out of the rifle, so I haven’t bothered with pushing it harder. 8208 has worked great, plan on using it with my upcoming 223. Wylde build.
