griffith island club

I think if you have to ask then you cant afford it..............I know a guy that used to work there, I will see if he knows, but probably not since the clients didnt mingle with the help

I know I cant afford it. Just curious. My buddy is big on golf and we were debating the costs of shooting vrs golf. Griffith island is the most "elite" I know of. I'm thinking $10 grand but haave no clue

Okay here is the deal from a guy who used to work there as a guide

25k a year to be a member
No idea what the initiation fee is
That gets you 36 man days of hunting
Trophy fees apply for deer and pheasant etc

griffith island

I've been there about a half dozen times with a buddy of mine that had a membership for years. You get pampered beyond belief, but honestly it's "hunting" for people that don't hunt. Basically it's just a pheasant farm on an island, although they also have their own herd of deer and turkeys. The meals are fantastic and overall it's very nice but like I said it's shooting for those that don't like getting dirty or doing the dirty work.....To each there own.:D

Is there an initiation charge?
Affluence.
It is a shooting, hunting playground for successful business and political persons.
I like it when guys buy a $25000 shotgun and just as happy when those who can afford it shoot on Griffith Isle.
I don't expect to shoot there even if I win LOTO !!

I've heard of the "help" getting to hunt after guests leave, basically for the mass quantities of pheasants left over. They release so many to up the odds for the guests/members, there is birds everywhere. Some of their deer herd don't stay on the island though, our hunting group has shot a few, and seen a few more on main land that have made the swim across.

That is true, I have had a few friends work there when we were much younger and after the guests/members were done for the season they got to go out shooting pheasants and deer. The only complaint I ever heard from any of them was they got sick of being fed pheasant.

I was there as a guest of a member about 2 weeks ago and it was one of the best 2 days of my life. Sure the hunting is easy as there are literally thousands of birds at any given time. But come on, who doesn't dream of a hunt with endless shooting opportunities? The yearly membership is close to $30k. The saying goes... "money can't buy happiness "... But in the case of Griffith island, it can. The clean up hunt is taking place soon, when a few lucky members and staffers go out and try to harvest any remaining birds.
