I haven't gotten around to buying an AR yet but have been trying a couple different foregrips on my KSG and it got me to thinking what would be optimal for when I do take the plunge? Everybody has different preferences so all opinions are welcome:cool:

Things to consider are grip technique, type of foregrip, and barrel length...or if you don't use a foregrip: why/why not?

Exactly why you just gota try it and find out how it works with you. If im going to go down the road though, no grip is my grip. I have found that adding anything adds 0 performance enhancements to my shooting. Looks cool though.

I've got a stubby but shoot it mostly like the bottom left pic. I also have the AFG2. I find I have a bit more control than holding a vertical grip like the upper right pic. I'm tempted to almost go minimalist and try a plain handstop. Each person is different, just got to try them all and see which feels/works better to you as Cdnkeeper pointed out.

If the barrel is very short, you need an index point so you know your hand isn't over the muzzle. When you are firing one gun at a time.
Otherwise you use whatever your favorite action hero uses.

I like long tubular handguards, using c-clamp grip. Great for managing muzzle climb for fast followup shots. I have my forefinger parallel to the barrel for faster target acquisition (learned that one from a very capable shotgunner, but enough AR shooters do the same). Here's a vid of me testing the mags on the old 10/22 that I sold to a buddy and replaced with an AR-15.22 build. Yes, the c-clamp grip isn't necessary for rimfire but that's how I got used to shooting through quite a bit of practice so anything else feels uncomfortable.
Please note that if you're checking out the channel, the T97 and the SKS videos were from before I got a lot of practice and guidance, so my rifle shooting got A LOT better since then lol Don't have anything really interesting to show by now, but I will be posting up some action shooting vids in the future.
