I picked up my first handgun today, a Smith and Wesson model 17 .22 and was looking around at some grips on ebay. I see lots from Thailand selling on there that have some nice colour variations to them. Any one ever get a set or know anyone that has them?

I have a set, decent for the price.

Thanks fellas. I may try a set. How do you like the finger grooves? I have big hands and when trying to find a grip that feels comfortable, I find myself putting my little finger under the but of the gun. These look a little bigger and wonder if they may fit me better.

For me Pachmayers are too thin side to side and too wide front to back. More of a Hogue or Arrends sort of hand here.

The offshore stuff from ebay looks pretty good. And worst you'll find is that a slim paper or business card shim is required. So for the money I'd say go for a set.

Great gun you got. The grip issue is minor. The metal is true and will do the job once you find some wood or rubber grips that fit your hands.

I prefer smooth and more plain looking grips. The ones with strongly shaped finger groove seldom seem to fit MY fingers.

Way better, they are larger then the stock, main reason I bought them was I hated how the stock grips felt, they actually overlap the entire frame with no metal showing.

I find the stock grips much the same way. Maybe I will get a couple different styles. Kinda like the wife's shoes, could have one or two for every day of the week!
