Grizz sow and cub

About 10 years ago I saw a grizzly in the alpine up the top end of Airplane Creek which is in the Chilliwack Valley (east Fraser Valley).

I totally agree and when you consider that there is a huge grizzly population around Harrison Lake, Pemberton, Whistler which are all of the surrounding areas I would say that I wouldn't be surprised if at least one is already in the North Shore mountains.

I been telling people for the last 3 years to expect grizzlies in N. Van, they seemed kind of surprised at the thought.

There was a Wolvervine caught on Dollartan Hwy last year.

It's important not to give the antis any "catch and release hunitng via pics" arguments
That depends. If they want to do a demo of how to stalk to within 50 feet of a griz sow and cub, then I would at least want to see the demo.:D Would it be wrong to cover the anti with mollasses and roll him in oats first?

Nice pics Gatehouse, you live in some of the best Bear country anywhere. Fortunatly I'm not that far away. I used to hunt Bears every spring up there and saw a couple of grizzies during that time. And yes you can't go too far wrong haveing THE KING along at times like that.

SOme other (crappy) pics I took with my camera, prior to the battery dying. I wasn't on good footing...But this shows how we spotted the bear and moved closer.

More awesome pics...I only saw 1 grizz last year near Rutherford. BUT they sure are around here (in numbers the CO guys told me).

I need to supliment my shorty 12g with some frags I think!

FYI... Grizzly was spotted in Britannia Beach, #### you not.

I'm up there every weekend overlooking the reno on my folks' house, and since neighbor knows, i'm the 'gun' guy he told me... I asked him if he was sure it was a grizz not just a cinnamon colored blackie, but he said the CO's came and gave out notices, etc. etc.

So yeah nice to hear grizz are doing good. On a side note, went for a walk from britannia to murrin lake and saw a nice 6 foot black bear on the opposite side of the highway, he/she seemed mesmerized by one of those small street sweepers... (that clean the grooved pavement prior to new asphalt being pored). . . . of course 4 car loads of people looked at me funny as i walked passed the bear as they were taking pics from inside their cars... ah what can you do, ber country :)

In Britt. Beach eh? No shock to me...I go dirt biking around there and the bears are thick like rats.

I would be stoked to see a Grizz up there!
