I am looking for some input to see what's out there as far as outfitting the grizzly 8.5 with some better maybe adjustable sights so that my slugs hit where the barrel is pointed not 1 foot higher.

I am looking for something do it yourself... a nice set of ghost rings would work or something thats mounts to the rail thats included... I dont really want a red dot or something like that unless its the only easy option.

If you just want to lower the POI then a taller bead or a pedestal base and bead might get you there...

If you want ghost rings there is a front sight out there that clamps on to the barrel over the bead no soldering or drilling/tapping involved and then a rail mounted ghost on the back would do it.

I think LPA might be the ones I'm thinking of,

if you just want to raise the POI easily, pick up the wilson combat front blade sight. it epoxies on over your bead.
you can tap the receiver and install the rear ghost ring as well. casey at tacord has a really good price on the set, IIRC its $145 with the tritium inserts both front and rear - thats cheaper than most US prices.

Are sights really warranted for something like this with such a short sight radius and large pattern potential? I know there is always the looks cool factor but when that bear is coming your way are you going to have time for a proper sight picture. Maybe we should look at having the butt stock adjusted for our sight picture instead like they do for trap etc.Just my 3 cents worth.

If you think a front sight ramp may take care of the problem Williams Gun Sight makes "shorty" ramps for shotgun barrels. They solder or screw on and have a dovetail to accept standard rifle sights. Brownells has them in various heights.

There arn't any bears in Southern Ontario... I like ghost rings, but $145 is pretty pricey for $399 gun??? For that kinda money I'll get an optic and put it on.

^ how much would a set of front and rear without tritium be plus instalation?

I had my 8.5" Grizz sent to Casey at TacOrd and should get it back later this week. I had Trijicon sights put on it, as well a Remchoke installed. Keep in mind that when you get a new front sight silver-soldered on you have to re-parkerize the gun. His prices are very fair and his workmanship is incredible. I will post pics when it shows up. People may ask about putting expensive sights on a cheaper gun, but with my Tavor discount coupon I only paid $299 for it, and after all the work (sights, new stock, 2 chokes, titanium shell follower, big safety and re-coating) my total would be like $850. That's the same price you'd pay for Dlask one except mine has a better stock, better sights and can take Remchokes. As far as I'm concerned I'm saving money. And my gun is the way I want it. I'll post some pics when it shows.
