I see there are many of you Grizzly gurus out there so I am soliciting some guidance. I am having trouble with the install of a Knoxx folding stock on my 8.5 Grizzly. I see that some of you guys have done this. My problem is regarding the receiver stud into which the stock screws. The screw in the Knoxx stock seems to have different threads than the gun's stud. FYI I had the stock on a Remingtonm 870 with no problem.
To address the issue I used a Remingtom receiver stud. It seemed to fit alright. Now here is the embarassing part. After shooting about 15 rounds of 00 buck and some birdshot, the stock fell off. Glad I was alone on the range and there were no witnesses to this debacle. Essentially, the reciver stud came out of the reciver. Upon getting home, I examined it and there was no thread damage. I screwed the Remington stud back into the reciver and it seems to fit just fine but something ain't right.
I am therefore seeking sage counsel for ideas to explain and/or remidy this. I don't want to mess around and destroy the threads of the screw, stud or the reciever itself.
Thanks.
