Grizzly bear spotted in downtown Squamish

SQUAMISH - A grizzly bear has been spotted in downtown Squamish.
RCMP say a resident saw a bear in a yard early today.
Police scared the bear into the Squamish Estuary and contacted conservation officers.
But the bear came back to the same area about two hours later.
RCMP say the bear is attracted to garbage containers in the area.
Conservation officers are asking that residents store their garbage in proper containers inside a garage or shed so as not to attract wild animals.

I will point out before he does that gatehouse predicted that we'd have grizzlies on the north shore mountians within 5 years, about 3 years ago. - sooner if they learn to hitchhike.

Half mast?!?! They likely relocated him to his front porch with a bottle of scotch, a 24, and a pizza. He'll be fine, we just won't hear from him for a few days

When it comes right down to it WOMEN are much more dangerous and unpredictable then bears.

And they're more likely to bite and scratch....
