Grizzly killed Calgary hunter

This happened 10 min's East from where my brother live's in Sundre and it was in one of the lease's he hunt's. I'll be hunting on this lease and other lease's close by for elk hopefully next fall with him. After he found out that this guy was found and what happened to him he refuses to go out in the dark and get's back to his truck before dusk now.

I've been alone in the dark with a slab of elk on my back and a bear snorting/following me. It is a very unnerving experience. I thinking getting in before light is overrated!

He just bought his house there alittle over a year ago and need's to get use to the possibilitie of being the hunted. He don't like the idea of a grizz possibly being close by but I know the cat's don't bother him and he has had encounter's with them. He was suppose to go out with some local's on a cat hunt before he went back to work but have'nt talked to him to see how they made out.

:runaway: Bears have always roamed the woods around there. Why this would change someones style of hunting is beyond me. But hey, to each his own...

Just as much of a chance of stumbling upon a grizzly during the day as there is after dark.

It is very unfortunate what happened, but it does happen. That is the risk one takes hunting in grizz country. No place in the world that I would rather be...

He just want's to be able to see what's going on around him I guess, he hunt's on average probably 4 or 5 day's a week with his bow when elk, mule deer and whitetail season is open. Lately he's been calling yote's and wolve's to the bark of his 243 and doing ok at that, so if he ever run's into one I think he might have some trouble putting one down if need be NIGHT or DAY. I'll have to ask him when he get's home from the field's exactly why.
