So I have gotten about 100+ slugs through my shotgun now, all 2 3/4 1 oz , and have noticed that the remington slugger rifled slugs I have bought like get stuck in the chamber. 30 slugs shot, 9 cycled good, 21 had problems ejecting, the expanded base after firing seemed to be the cause. The winchester slugs from Walmart ,3 have been stuck in the chamber after discharging of about 70 shots. I mixed them in between the Winchesters to see if the chamber was getting tighter, nope, I put my caliper on the jammed shells and they are .002 -.003 larger than the not jammed rounds after firing.

You guys tried any other brands and have results like this too?

Should I ream out the cylinder just abit larger, or leave it?

BTW ... I have a Knoxx recoil folding stock on my gun, the pistol grip, WOW!!!! it is soooo smooth and easy on the hand, I recomend them.

Above are two classic examples of quality control.
I've shot MANY Remington and other brand slugs through my 870p and have had absolutely no issues to speak of.

You get what you pay for I guess.

Unfortunately Remington isn't immune to poor QC either, the last 3 870Ps we purchased all had problem chambers and had to go back for honing. :bangHead:

Billy.....Take a look for a bur or some other imperfection in the chamber that might be causing the shell to stick. You should be able to fire and cycle pretty much anything through an 870 or clone no matter how good or bad the quality (within safe reason of course).

Cheers

I have a Grizzly and a 870. Fired many Remington and Winchester Walmart slugs through the gun, and there was NO problem at all. I guess, there must be a blurr or something in the chamber of your gun.

Used a cylinder hone today to open it up, even the largest diameter shell will pull out with a touch of resistance using my fingernail. Hopefully this will fix the problem. Before I started, the same shell had jambed itself in and I couldn't pry it out with a utility knife blade. Looking forward to going out again and trying more remington shells.

It is frustrating but appears to be a sign of the times. However they are still good guns and worth the extra $$ over the Express models for serious work applications.

Cheers
