Grizzly mag shotgun magazine, 2 3/4 shells:

If I load 5 rounds, the top one sits horizontal, and doesn't clear the front magazine lip (I pushed the round forward to demonstrate). So it will not leave the mag at all.
If I load 4 rounds, the top round is angled correctly for feeding, and I can chamber a round fine.
Suggestions please.

Edit:
Confessional Debugging:

Sticking a lump of cardboard on the front of the follower helps, so this would be one possible fix:

I took a hammer to the mag follower (hold my beer, Cletus) and that helps a fair bit. Gateway drug to taking a dremel to the feed ramp/chamber. I suppose it needs it.

Anyway, problem mostly solved now, thanks.

I'd think that the rear-back portion of the follower was bottoming out too early... take it apart and examine for binding near rearmost portion of follower. If were to Bubba it, without seeing it in person of course, I'd look at removing material from the rear of the follower.

Good luck!

Cletus dropped my beer and ran screaming from the room:

The bolt head stops the follower from going nose down.
So yes G37, it was something to do with follower angle anyway.

Now the vorpal blade goes snicker-snack, so I can close the horrific case file on this incident.

Comment would be that for serious purposes, the mag fed grizzly isn't a sure thing.
