Any of you Grizzly bear aficionados check out the DVD release of the documentary "Grizzly Man", about the none-too-stable dreamer who spent 13 summers up in Alaska living with the bears until one ate him and his girlfriend? Priceless stuff, whatever your point of view. The contrast between his surfer-dude/hippieesque world view and that of the locals who live up there year round is striking.

I have been looking forward to seeing it. For the photography of bears and scenery alone it should be good.

None too stable dreamer is right though

We rented it on the weekend. It was a dissapointment.

Because of "grizzly mans" (thats a stretch) stupidity an innocent girl was killed as well as a perfectly good bear. Good bear scenes were few and far between .

IMO this FLAMER (and believe me he was a flamer in the truest sence of the word ) used bears as a means to get himself on film and thats it. I dont think it was worth $5 but was mildly amusing . The bears should have eaten him years ago .

I give it 2 out of 5 bear droppings.

Zedex is too kind. My brother rented it in case there was a scene of him getting smacked around. No such luck. IMHO, the guy was a con-man. No flames please, it's just my opinion.

I love movie reviews on CGN...there's always this conflict between "art" and "####ing hell, where are the guns, gore, grizzlies and gals?"

Just pictures of mountains and trees and all that good stuff? I can go outside and see that. Sounds like a WOFT to me.

The best scene in the movie was of 2 grizzlies fighting. These grizzlies looked HUGE . What fascinated me was the size of their front legs and their power. Other than that one scene ,the film was a drag. Lots of interviews with friends of the deceased, etc. They could have at least had the audio of the two being eaten. The camera was rolling but the lens cap was on as they were being consumed. If you got $5 to throw away, rent something else .:)

I dont think the guy was bipolar. I think he couldnt grasp the fact that he was ###, and denied being ###. Therefore was not accepted by males or females or society so he chose grizzlies. It was a fine choice.:p

Well the wife and I watched it last night, man......I have read how out to lunch he was but I had no idea just how off his rocker he was until I watched it:eek:

Odd, just so very odd

Some nice footage but that's about it.... 10 minutes of the stuff.

Man, great title, great topic......incredibly ####ty documentary. At least Project Grizzly was mildly amusing and a laugh a thon but this...just sucked.

C'mon you guys, stop being so friggin' concrete..."he is homo flamer, he fool around with bears...movie suck". Didn't you at least find it perversely fascinating?

Maybe we can use the film to get the late Timothy Treadwell nominated for a Darwin Award.

If anyone deserves one it was that granola crunching - Birkenstock wearer.

Maybe we could use the film to encourage ALL greenies to go camping in the same spot.
