I just happened to have a spare Remington Hans Vang barrel kicking around so I decided to swap it onto my Grizzly's receiver.
It went on okay until the last 1/4" at which point it got pretty tight.
Forcing into the receiver was no problem using a little muscle.
Pulling it out of the receiver was just as problematic.
I then happened to notice the top of the Remignton barrel was worn where it had rubbed off on the Grizzly reciever.
It wasn't a fit issue due to the receiver/barrel diameter but an alignment one.
I ended up taking a digital vernier calipre to each barrel and as I suspected, the Grizzly's barrel lug is shorter than the Remington one. Hence the alignment problem.
Measuring from the bottom of the barrel to the top of the magazine clearance hole the Grizzly's measurement is .180". Same dimension with the Remington is .260".
Total difference is .260 -.180 = .080"
Its an alignment issue - not a barrel diameter issue.
My advice is for those who are fitting remington barrels to Grizzlies is to work on the top portion of the barrel first instead of trying to reduce the overall diameter of the Rem barrel.
