Grizzly/Remington Barrel Swap

Is it safe to put a Dominion Arms Grizzly 12.5" barrel into a Remington 870 receiver? As well as using the whole remington action.

Will it blow up? Is it safe?

Sometimes. I bought a 12 1/2 barrel for my 870 (new not a take off) The indexing of the barrel ring was out so much that if the barrel nut was tight the action wouldn't lock up. Yet it was close enough that it would work on one of my other 870's. In any case I got rid of it and that is my last DA purchase. I know that for some people the light shines out DA's ass but I'm not impressed. I have 4 wingmasters right now and 2 of them have Remington 14" barrels on them, and to compare them side to side leaves the DA seriously lacking. Don't worry I have my flamesuit on

Mine fits and works perfectly. My 3.5" 870 express barrel fits my grizzly perfectly also.

I just bought a dominion arms barrel from can ammo
12.5"
Its for my Remington 870 express 18" barrel
It fits great and a did a range test today with many different loads
Functions well
Only downside is the craftsmanship of dominion arms is really poor
Maybe because I'm comparing it to my factory 18" barrel
The thing arrive all scratched up
The finish wasn't of quality to say the least
The bead was put on poorly
All that said I am still very happy with it
It serves it's function and was only $150

Completely safe. I've got around 22-24k rounds through my barrel and zero concerns with consistent accuracy.

I've painted mine and smoothed out all the rough spots in the action now as from the factory the receiver and action bars are a bit rough.

I've only tried 3 or 4 Dominion barrels on 3 or 4 different 870's and the all were misindexed when mixed and one barrel would not even mate with the receiver.
The ones that fit but were misindexed were not out enough to cause them to malfunction but the beads leaning of to one side annoyed me.
Most seem to either not notice or have had better luck.

I like the Dominion clones but I use Dominion barrels on Dominion receivers and leave the Remingtons on the Remingtons.

I have (had - it's up for sale) a 12.5 DA barrel on an 870 with a saddle rail and a red dot. No issues.

quick question - i have the 28" barrel on the remington express
do the 18" and 28" barrel models have different receivers?

can I use the 12.5" dominion barrel?

One receiver fits all barrels except the 8 1/2 that one needs to have the shell tube shortened
