416 RM with 400 grers at 2500 fps is lots of BEAR killer

Shhh they’re not supposed to go that fast. They do but recoil is getting noticeable.Even the little 300 gr. At 2900 is a pretty good killer.

I ended uploading some of these for a “just in case” scenario. .264” 160 grain interlock going 2400ish. They hit an inch or two low, but centre at 25 and 50 yards.

I'll guess the sectional density is pretty good on that bullet...

Might be better to use the 30-06 that you already have as it is a rifle that you are used to , and know its capabilities. If a new rifle is a must , then a 338 would be my choice .
