grizzly shot gun won't feed on a full mag

Hi Folks,

I don't know if anyone else has ever ran into the same problem. i have grizzly mag fed shot gun with an original mag plus a aftermarket mag from CanAmmo. both mags won't feed on a full mag. when i try to close the action/load the shell with 5 or 4 rounds in the mag, the shell will get stuck on the feeding ramp instead of going into the chamber, but anytime i have 3 or less shells in the mag, it feeds perfectly fine...

Anyone knows a solution to this problem?

Thanks,

It absolutely is not illegal. My Grizzly fed from the box mag fine with 4 or 5. I read they could have issues feeding 3" shells but I had no issues

I understand some of the earlier models have rougher actions that had to be smoothed out and the lips of the mags needed a bit of tuning, (there are lots of posts here on the topic if you search). But in my experience if you stick with 2 3/4" shells and pump it like you mean it you should be good to go. Good luck.

Lol also, even if the OP was hunting, simply only putting three in would still be illegal, the gun has to be made unable to put in more than 3. On a tube mag that means putting in a plug so that it only holds two shells (1 in the chamber), on a mag feed it would need to be pinned to two.

I cut one loop off the mag spring to resolve the feeding issue. The follower was putting too much pressure on the first 2 rounds and the bolt couldn't catch the round properly.

maybe he's the ontario CFO?

Your probably right. He's thinking of the reg's for hunting waterfowl or something. Can't imagine a short little Grizzly being a highly desirable SG for that purpose. But telling him to put 3 shots in,is more of a smart *** answer than a helpful one.

when I first brought the gun ,it did had some problem to feed at full mag, but after shooting for about 100 shotshell ( 2 3/4) ,there is no issue for both factory and aftermarket mag.

Initially mine would ftf on 3" shells, it would catch on the inner lip of the mag. It loaded 2 3/4 shells 100%, I have polished the inner edge of the mag and feed ramp and it feeds fine now.

To the OP. I had the same issue but it was doing the first two out of a 5 round mag :(. I'm sorry I don't know the terminology for the specific part of the mag but I fixed mine by cutting back the "lips" that catch the shells when you feed them into the magazine.... the lips that hold the shells in place from popping out. If you cut back the front of the lips toward the front of the magazine back about 1/4 inch to 3/8 then the shell pops up out of the magazine a little bit sooner when the bolt pushes it forward. This stopped the shell from getting caught on the feed ramp or where ever it was chocking up. Only cut the top of it where it curves over to hold the shell in and not down the sides or anything. It helped with the 3" shells as that was the most troublesome. Hope it helps.

Dent the followers. If you search for my username you'll find photos.
aftermarket mag from CanAmmo.
These are honking garbage. They should not be selling them to people.

I had the same feeding issue with my Grizzly and the issue disappeared once the gun was broken in a bit - is yours a new one?

If so... give it a real good cleaning, rip through a few hundred target loads, and report back!
