Hey folks! Haven't been on for a bit but I'm still here in the land of the living. Just got out of the hospital yesterday after an 11 day stay. They cut 2ft or so of cancer out my gut stuffed some glass pad of some kind in my pet hernia and gave me a bag to :bigHug::bigHug::bigHug::bigHug: in that's suposed to be temperary. All this got a nice infection so my original scar now appears as as though I may have to make up a story to go with it. After the homecare Lass leaves today I'm going to try a tour about the countyside with a coyote rifle so I guess I'm doing okay.
A pair of 23lbers this spring along with a couple of c oyotes some chucks and a nice eatin buck a couple weeks ago. What more could a poor old redneck ask for
Later TD

Welcome back and a long and healthy recovery enjoy your Chistmas go easy on the Boozy stuff though

I wish you well my friend as your going to need it if you just got out of hospital yesterday and your going on a coyote tour today. Even if your just driving you shouldn't be, I know you've alreafy been told the rules. The surgery you under went is considered major, complicated by an infection, so lay low young fella and live to hunt another day!! This would be a good time to clean all your guns "twice", then do some reloading, then read all the back issues of guns and ammo.

Yikes dude! I hope you've turned the corner on it & are well on the recovery curve!

Glad you are back on the forum!

ALL THE BEST!

Cheers
Jay

Enjoying life is good for your mental health, and mental health helps physical health, but heed mrgoat and take it easy for a while, stay with us longer.

TD, Wishing you a Speedy Recovery and that Wilbur doesnt leak at an inopportune time ;)
Sounds like you have a redneck head on yer shoulders and thats a good thing too.
Best of the Season to You and a Better 2013 .
What kinda stories you got cooking up for the scars ? ;)
Rob

So sorry to hear about your troubles! I know a little about what your going through since I was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2004. Five major surgeries later & I am cancer free but like you have lots of scars to show for it. Take everyone's advise & take it easy for a while. I wish you all the best & Merry Christmas to you!

You are probably still a bit jazzed, those hospital pharmacies stock nothing but the best. Take it easy for a bit and Merry Christmas. Print this up and throw darts at it. Took it from my deck this past spring.

Thanks guys for the well wishes and the concerns.
Glang! Sounds like you had quite a time. My surgeon is pretty sure he got it all as it was just the one polyp that was cancerous and we caught it quite early. The hernia I've had for a year or two and they decided it needed doing at the same time, can't remember the reason they gave but it made sense at the time. Physio had me up taking steps the day after i was out of icu and by the third day they had me walking over to the far side of the hospital and back which is about a quarter mile each way by the route i was taking. Problem creating the infection was the flange wouldn't seal well allowing fluids to get over into the incision.
One day at a time I'll get a bit more distance and hopefully by the first of january I should be comfortable to walk a mile. If that's the case I should be able to do some calling. Not suposed to lift more than 10lbs so that rules out some of my usaull rifles lol. Both of my Savages only weigh about 8lbs loaded.
Fear not guys I understand where I've been and how to exercise on the side of caution( I am dang near 60 yrs old after all) but i also know that we need to stay positive and get back in the saddle as we can. Besides I've ben seeing foxes !! Later and once again thankx D
