On a serious note,I have seen some Ukraine war pics of guys who had added plate below the waist on the rear end. This is a good idea, as a hit in the pelvis is a serious matter.

I’ve read a few times that pistols are statistically rarely ever used on the battlefield, I’ve always wondered if it made more sense to lose the extra weight of the 3a and the added mobility of just having plates. Only thing I can think of shrapnel, but I’m just a mall ninja.

3A Is for frag and blast if you are in combat

These are more for shrapnel and or deflection, despite above comments it’s not about keeping your pecker intact it’s all the major Arteries in the groin area they are trying to keep from sprinting unstoppable leaks.
