Ground Hogs in Trees?

I was at a cousins rural property a few years back and the kids come running up to say there was a groundhog in the tree. 'Yeah, right', I thought as I wandered over to have a look. Sure enough, it had climbed the tree to escape someones little dog but my cousin assured me he had seen it up the tree on several occasions.

Never seen that before. Never thought I'd catch a Red tailed hawk in a 220 connibear set for Fisher/Coon: Never thought I'd catch a Raccoon in a 4 1/2 Newhouse on slide wire set in the water for beaver either.

I'll look up more when I see few groundhogs on the ground! Good sport whether on a fence post, head poking out of hole or in a tree.
