Group Pictures

This was a group of five when I was doing load development for a Cooper M52 which is "original" and not gone over by a gun smith. Not an off the shelf Sav-ington, but not a custom rig either. The larger of the Dots is around 1 inch, OnTarget has this group of 5 at .991inch/.316MOA.

Although the target says 300 yards I recently found out the range is actually 300 meters, not bad for a hunting rifle chambered in 25-06AI pushing a 115gr dart over 3300fps.

Thought it would be interesting to start a thread restricted to actual "group pictures." I propose that this thread be restricted to a picture of your SPORTER RIFLE with the best (100yd or M) 5 shot group you have ever shot. A SPORTER RIFLE will be defined (for the purpose of this thread), as one having a muzzle diameter of less than 0.70" and mounted in a traditional sporter style stock.

Then why have you posted it in the precision rifle forum? There is a hunting /sporting arms forum.

Styled - very nice, and that mdel 52 has a pretty light barrel doesn't it?
Obtunded - I think it's obvious that these rifles are shooting like "precision sporters"...and certainly groups in the 1's,2's, and 3's fit the general description of "precision". So if you've got a precision sporter group, we'd love to see it!

Not a sporter, but a full military 1908 Brazilian Mauser (shot with irons off the sandbags at 200 yards). Five-round group, (the high one at 12 o'clock was the first round, to confirm sighting). 7x57 Mauser, 139gr. Hornady Spire Points in front of H4895 IIRC.

BTW: JEC - I still have the Sako 75 Hunter in 6.5 x 55 you sold me a few years ago. It's a very consistent sub-MOA shooter.:D:D:D

Clarity on the internet. Almost as rare as honesty.

If I get the opportunity to put a 5 shot group in a 1000 yard black bear I will post the picture.

This one's from a sporter, specifically, a Ruger Safari in .375 H&H. Again, shot from the bench, three shot group, POA is on the target's centre. 300 gr Hornady InterBond. Powder was bulk IMR 4064 from Higginson.

900 yards, 8.075"
300RUM, 200gr accubond 95gr Retumbo

First three shots from HS prohunter lite 325wsm, thoroughly cleaned between each shot.
Not bad for a rifle that is only 6.8 pounds, scoped and with a sling
