Group powder/primer buy - Higginson's

you would think that the local suppliers would take notice of these group buys ....I know for a fact that the local shop owner checks out the forum........in the last year and a half a group of us in Terrace has purchased close to 80,000 primers from Higginsons and powder in excess of 200 lbs.......if the local guy was within 10-15% of what we pay at Higginson's the consensus is that all of it would have been local sales. BUT at 42 bucks a thousand for primers and over 45 bucks a pound for powder it is not going to be a local sale for us. One of the group approached the local guy and all he got was the cold shoulder........you would think that any sales in this sort of volume would be a boost to the bottom line.
I would think making a 5$ profit on a can of powder 300 times would beat making a 20 profit 10 times a year(if that)
 
The last time I talked to Higginsons, they informed me that when they do group buys they will accept the order from each individual with payment from each individual and when the order is completely full, they will ship the whole order to a single location. That way everyone pays up front and does their own ordering.

Give them a call. Sounds like a good system.
