Group size question

Say you only have a 50 yard range to test your rifle. Would it be safe to say that a 1" group at 50 yards = 2" at 100 yards?

not necessarily, as wind and such can start talking effect, I would say for the 100 yard sure but as it goes I drought 150/200 yards will be in same increments

To answer your questions, those same 3 shots that grouped 1" at 50y would in theory have landed within 2" at 100y, 3" at 150y etc etc. In practice a lot of things come into effect the longer the shot is, the more chances of deviation by wind etc... Not to mention aiming at something closer consistently is much easier. But from 0 to 300 I would expect a 2 moa group to hold up.
