Ok,to start I don't know how to get pictures on here. Internetally Mental. By phone, email ok,here no. Anyway lots of you have expressed your favorite grouse guns. How about some pictures for me to look at/drool over, well for all to see. Don't want to be selfish.
Good luck on opening day!

My goto gun for upland- Westley Richards hammer double

This one is a Valmet/Tikka 412S 12 bore but I had my 28 gauge Briley tubes in it that day.

It has a set of rifle barrels fr it as well.

Well, you asked for pics so here are some of the guns I use for ruffed grouse:

Pieper 16 gauge field grade

Pieper 16 mid grade

Army & Navy 12 gauge (6 pounds, 4 ounces)

Heym 16 gauge

Tolley 12 gauge single barrel (5 pounds even)

A H Fox Sterlingworth ejector 16 gauge

But if we are on the open plains of North America and the grouse are a little further away and a little bigger and tougher like sharptails then it may be:

Pieper 12 gauge high grade

Lovena 12 gauge sidelock

Manufrance Ideal 12 gauge 6R EE

Roblin a Paris 12 gauge sidelock

Browning Gold 10....I find with an improved cylinder choke and 2 1/4 oz copperplated buffered #6 if you wait for the flock to hit 40+ yards you can get your limit with one shot. It may not be sporting but it's highly effective and economical for putting fowl in the oven. :p :)

And at 10.5 pounds carrying it for an afternoon is cheaper than a gym membership.

I love it!

My one & only grouse gun since new in 1989. Remington 870 Special Field in 20 ga.
It has a 21" interchangeable choke system barrel & weighs 5-1/2 lbs. & it is a joy to carry & shoot. With 2-3/4". #7-1/2 lead shot loads is all ever used, to bag my share of grouse...

I hope to use it for at least another 25 yrs!:)
Soon folks, soon!
