Are grouse still in season in ontario?
Going rabbit hunting tomorrow in the wee hours can't check the regs on my blackberry.

Please don't post a link to the regs as my phone can't open it, a yes or no would be great. Thanks guys.
 
spruce grouse and ruffed grouse closed on the 31st of december but depending on where you're at in the province, sharp-tailed grouse may still be open. it's usualy open until the 31st of march. good luck on your rabbits

Out of curiosity, how do you go about that? The first thing that comes to mind (for my 870 or similar) is chamber a 6/7.5/8/whatevers your fancy and have a #4 in the mag right behind it - coyote pops out, quick pump and you're ready?

No, never liked doing that. Just have it in a separate pocket, so you know where it is.
