So I dropped by my local Basscabelas today to find most displays wrapped in black plastic in advance of Black Friday, strange retail practice if you ask me, but in theor BF flyer they have these GSG-15 Competition Semi Auto .22s listed at $100 off, meaning $500 instead of $600.

Anschutz is a magic name with me and it would be nice to have a 22 round magazine to shoot again, but after a longish wait at the Bascabelas gun counter with the staff bustling about but avoiding eye contact I had to leave in defeat, not having even seen this rifle, new to me, on the racks never mind in person. But I do see they have them instock.

So before I take the blind online plunge, I'm wondering what people have to say about this rifle. Also, any opinions about its fate if ARs and scary looking other rifles are banned will be read with interest. Mostly though, what is the rifle's build, accuracy, and reliability like?

I love mine. I have not had any issues. This gun also has the anshultz trigger. I liked the feel out of the box and have not touched it. It says 22 but the mag actually fits 24. I only use federal bulk ammo. I have not hany any feeding or jamming issues. I never never tried to see how accurate it actually is though. This gun replace my ruger sr22. 10 round mags in a semi auto really sucks after having 25 in the past.

It's the trigger that's mostly attracting me, the barrel is an important bonus, the adjustable two ways stock seems nice. It's very hard to get service from the avoiders at the local store and now it's black Friday, but I don't want to get one from online sight unseen....
