GSG-15 Special Edition

Just received the new GSG-15 from Cabelas (via Basspro)

The barrel looks similar to the GSG-16. I don't have a GSG-15 or ISSC MK22 to compare, but sharing some pics for those interested.

I was tempted by that. I saw one at Bass Pro but neglected to fully unscrew the suppressor to see what was under it. Does anyone know if it will see a wider release than at Cabelas/Bass Pro

it looks like it has "blueline" printed on the side, so I would think that it would go to other retailers, unless it's a cabela's / basspro exclusive item.

Can't see any other references to it online. I've ordered one, I'll post more pics once it arrives.

Cabela's used to sell the GSG15 with the Anchutz match grade barrel and adjustable trigger. Not sure if your model is similar

Yes, it came in a few different flavors.. the other one (which is more like the MK22) is the Anschutz MSR RX22.

So You have to twist the fake suppressor to take it off? The fake suppressor on the gsg16 had a pin held in place.

Does it come with backup iron sights?

Yes - it just screws off with the thread. No pin required.

Yes it comes with plastic backup "iron" sights.

I'll probably red dot it though. I had the original ISSC MK22 awhile back.. I loved it but sold it and wanted it back - this one is a nice upgrade as the bird cage flash hider + long barrel just didn't look as tacticool. =)

Thanks, I was looking at one of these at Cabela's, and the sales guy said the barrel was better than the 'standard' model, but not as heavy as the Anschutz barrel. Reviews of the GSG 16 have mentioned the new 'hammer forged' barrel on that gun, so I assume it's the same?
