Seems to be a lot of people looking for them, just bought one from irunguns.ca and it comes with the conversion kit too. No affiliation just info for those looking.

I'm a newbie. I googled dlask barrels and found their website. I'm guessing it's much better than the stock barrel?
Can someone please list some advantages of the dlask barrel? Maybe I should consider getting one as well.
Thanks!

Ohh ok.
And that wouldn't affect the firearm classification? Would it still be Non-Restricted?

BLUF: if you keep the OEM 16" barrel, you can collapse the stock. If you use the 9" barrel, you cannot have a collapsible stock.

You need an overall length to be 26" or more (or whatever the actual measurement in mm is) to keep it NR.

If you have a solid stock, no issues. If it is collapsible, it cannot collapse to shorter than the minimal OAL is for NR/rimfire.

Note that if the firearm cannot be operated with the stock folded/removed (and under the NR AOL), you're still ok. (e.g. 'takedown' rifles)

The GSG-16 doesn't fall into this category, so regardless of configuration, to keep it NR it has to be longer than OAL.

ah ok, cool. i'm learning, haha.
Thank you for the thorough explanation and pardon my ignorance.

Hey, no issues... The firearms laws aren't exactly, um, straightforward.

Now i'm having thoughts of designing a folding stock for the GSG that disables the action when it's collapsed... mmm

That be tricky, The gun can technically fire w/o the stock on and because the OAL needs to be over 26" OAL, unless you register it as a restricted.

I was going to say have it fold to the right, and have a tab that locks into the chamber. But needs to be disabled till the stock is fully extended. Be curious to see though.

Very clear explanation. Well done.

Yeah I was having thoughts about that.. the whole action must be disabled in all conditions/articulations/positions of the stock until 100% lock is attained when opened.

It would be doable if there was a hinge part on the stock that slid inside the receiver as it extended to push/lock the slide in battery.

cue macgyver theme, and a little benny hill, of course.
