I have just purchased the GSG 1911 (which I am loving so far) but what I am wondering is if there is a scientific test anywhere that shows different ammunition types and their grouping.

What I am referring to comes from any of the combat handgun magazines, etc where they test a gun with 5 or 6 brands / types of ammo and then produce the groupings from each. Obviously each gun likes different ammo to different degrees so it would be nice to have that objective report if one exists.

Failing that, where is the best place to get decent ammo from in / around calgary or edmonton and what brands are suggested.

From my own non-scientific test I shot 3 boxes initially through it and found that without changing anything on my part (stance or whatever it is that I could have changed) my accuracy went from having a group of 20 rounds at 7 yards going from 1. size of a dinner plate, 2. 2/3rds size of the dinner place and 3. size of a fist. (Yes I know thats not great but for me...I am ok with it.

The ammo was
1. AE22 - High Velocity .22 Cal Long Rifle, 38 grain Copper-plated HP
2. Blazer 22 Long Rifle 40 grain (no sku, but silver/black box, 50 rnds)
3. CCI Standard Velocity 22 LR, Lead Round Nose 40 grain Target

Phoenix is charging $4.95 a box for the CCI which was my best grouping by far and I am not sure where I can get it in bulk.

Any assistance is appreciated.
Thx

Try Federal 525 pack and Dynapoint GT as well. Between those two they cover most of my rimfires for decent accuracy and good functioning. Sometimes the Winchester 333/555 ammo works out as well, but it has been fussy in some of my semi's for functioning.
