GSG 1911 Compact -- Any Reviews Yet ?

Wondering if anyone has picked up the new GSG compact, and if so how you're liking it.

Does the shorter slide help with milder ammo or does it still require hot rounds to run reliably ?

Most importantly, WTF is that thing on the front of the barrel and does it come off or is it bubba'ed on permanently.

Hi MTLGUN,

The "Barrel Shroud" on the end of the barrel is simply for looks to cover the extended barrel. It is removable but you would then have a very long barrel sticking out the end as it is the full size 127mm barrel. We used this barrel to keep the cost of the pistol much lower than if we were to have to manufacture a 107mm barrel specifically for the Canadian market.

We hope to have videos on our site next week of take down and assembly of the 922 and several other products.
