Well I have had my restricted license for over 2 yrs , finally broke down and bought a handgun, really didn't know what to get so I started off with this

Pleased so far with look and feel can't wait to go to the range .....

Good starting point. I liked mine, but I always like buying more, so had to part with it. They are fun guns. Found I had to clean my GSG quite often, .22 is a dirty round.

When mine was clean, it shot anything except Winchester 333's. Everything else ran clean. HV, Hyper velocity, target, HP. Just keep it clean.

The GSG 1911 was my first pistol too. Great little gun and I'm happy with my purchase, just make sure you stick with high velocity rounds.

Great little pistol, got mine last saturday, hit the range saturday pm, really loved it to shoot no real probs but did prefer copper washed ammo(federal bulk worked fine) but am going to try cci mini mags36g.
Enjoy, its a great first gun, shoots pretty good too.........
Import

Awesome pistol, mine eats anything i feed it. Ive only had 2 FTE's in 500 or so rounds and it was do to bad cases. I fired 500 rounds through mine before cleaning it for the first time with no problems.

I primarily shoot the Winchester 333 bulk packs just because of price, of course with the cheap bulk stuff you have to expect a few hiccups occassionally due to mass production vs quality control...........

I just got back from the range whit my new GSG 1911, i shot some Winchester 333's and some CCI stinger's... no problems, but i must say that the Stinger's where way less smoky but more expensive... still... i think i'm going to go whit CCI from now on, at least in indoor range

Mine shoots all high velocity ammo, must be kept well oiled on the rails, tried grease on them and she wouldn't cycle.

some noteable changes from earlier GSG-1911's:

1) ramp before barrel stud
2) non tapered recoil spring
3) metal "non-magnetized" recoil spring guide with washer and buffer
4) recoil spring plug that is unable to rotate
5) metal "magnetized" barrel bushing
