GSG 1911 or SIG MOSQUITO ...which 22?

No competition, the mosquito is a giant piece of crap and the slide will crack in half. Not matter of if but when,go with the gsg I have two and at least one of then goes to the range with me every time.

GSG 1911 all the way. It has all the safety features of a standard 1911 plus it's a pretty solid pistol in its own right. I'm glad I went with it. My pistol shoots any high velocity ammo 99.9% of the time with the rare jam mostly using cheap ammo like Wildcat or Thubderbolts. They are great pistols. Versions are made with the Sig, Swiss arms and GSG labels they are all the same gun made by GSG.

I got the sig by Gsg and it's pretty good . I did polish the rails on the slide , it helped but I need to polish a lil better again

Over 3000 rounds through the GSG in the last couple of years and going well. Make sure you use hi velocity ammo and all will be fine. There seems to be some difference in price between vendors so check around as you have lots of choice living where you do!

In my experience the both of them are spotty reliability wise, but at least the GSG won’t break. It just needs a new recoil spring after a while.

I have a Colt 1911 in 22 and it's a great gun and I wanted a GSG for new shooters to try out and get them into the sport,
it was an ok gun at best, constant stove piping, lots of jams and with the one I had it didn't seem to matter the ammo.

If your looking in the $400.00 range maybe look for a good used S&W 22A-1 or a good used Ruger or ?? There are also
other new 22's in that price range you may want to do a search here and see what others recommend.

I must have gotten the only 2 good gsg's out there becouse i only start getting failers at around 500 rounds without cleaning

SIG is disassociating themselves from the GSG built Mosquito. I’m sure they just don’t want that inferior product associated with the SIG name. GSG is suppose to be selling them now. I believe they call it the Firefly.

I have not seen much success in semi auto .22s based on full size platforms. They all seem to have issues of some kind. The only exception I have personally experienced is the M&P .22.

If I were to own a .22 now, it would be a revolver, likely a S&W 617 or 17.

Alot of problems with the gsg 1911 come from user induced problems the 3 biggest I see are no wanting to try different ammo,no cleaning it or using way to much oil on causing feeding and ejection issues.

GSG. I'm not even sure why the mosquito still exists.

For only a few bucks more you can get a ruger or a browning buckmark. Both are much better than either the gsg or the mosquito.

Gag for sure...prefers slightly hotter ammo..mine run without issues and with the zrts kit are pretty accurate..Cz .22kadet is a great alternative..but I do love my gsg...mosquito really does have a spotty rep...I’m sure some run just fine..luck of the draw..

Sig gsg all the way little nicer finish ,love mine

No regrets on the GSG, sanded slide from new with 1000 grit paper taped on the corner of a glass table and added the ZRT kit and never over oil it, over 25,000 rounds with very few fail to fire and almost never stove pipes, way less fussy about bullet choices than my CZ Shadow SP01 with a Kadet 2 adapter, My wife and daughter always want to shoot the GSG as the spring in the slide is easier to function than the CZ Kadet 2 slide.
