I was going to buy a GSG 1911 tactical the other day and the guy behind the counter said the last person who bought one had the fake suppressor confiscated by the police because they didn't like them, and if I bought it I should get a bushing to protect the threads once the can was taken off, and he didn't really think it was worth the hassle.
So I picked up a can of 4064 for my .243 instead and before I could pay for it the woman at the till, after glancing at my RPAL, insisted on writing down my drivers license number and home address, when I asked her why she said someone had set off a pipe bomb south of Red Deer and all powder purchases had to be recorded for the RCMP. Are these real issues? Has anyone else heard of this? This is in central Alberta.
