GSG 5 - Anyone find out its status?

Pretty sure its prohibited... For now, they are in the works of getting them re reclassified.

Calling it a MP5 copy will only keep it prohibited.

Apparently, they've had a GSG5 to inspect for one month. I don't understand how it could possibly take them longer than one day to acknowledge their classification mistake. I haven't even handled one and can tell you it's fine based on the dozens of internal pictures people have posted for all to see.

They're stalling...

why is everyone saying they'll buy one?

We've already established it is two halves of dubious looking metal (probably cast) held together with what looks like plain old self tapping wood screws and nobody even knows if it is accurate.

I for one am not holding my breath.

There may be a Federal election soon and that may have some bearing on why it is taking so long.

Bull####. They're just bureaucrats at tech branch. Don't give them that much credit. Besides, it takes an Act of Parliament or an Order in Council to change it's classification to prohibited by name, providing that it meets the current criteria for non-restricted status.

It's probably a double shot as to why it's taking so long. The RCMP techs are likely occupied with the daily mundane business, and re-classifying prohibited firearms is probably low on the to do list even if they had the time.

We should keep in mind though that the squeaky wheel gets the grease. Are we able to send letters to this RCMP dept?

BUT it looks cool, it doesn't need to shoot straight. :slap:
