Good day all,

I have a GSG 922, the shortened version of the GSG 1911. It's a good pistol. Great for plinking, practice and all-around gleeful happiness. Today at the range, the rear sight broke off during shooting. For those who might know, or have had it happen to them, I am trying to find out if this is at all common, "one off" or occurs to some people?

I have had it since Nov, have only shot 266 rounds through it and the sight flew off, into my glasses, during the 258th round. I thought it was a stray casing with a retarded trajectory. It wasn't until I finished the mag that my nephew saw the sight on the table in front of me.

I'm bringing it to the PoP for warranty tomorrow but I was just looking for some info to try and figure this out.

Thanks in advance for whatever constructive information you can provide.

I lost the sight on my gsg 1911 amd I bought a set from dlask, they actually look like real sights not like that junk they come with.

I'll discuss that with the shop tomorrow and see what they can do. It doesn't look like there's a lot of material connecting these two pieces. Very soft metal at that.

Yours are metal? The gsg 1911 are plastic and they are 1 peice, there is a small metal base plate so the machine screw dosnt bite into the soft slide.

The adjustible rear sight (both pieces) is metal. It has a plastic screw which moves the sight left/right. there is a tiny bit of metal which connects it all together. I posted a pic to the FB site. Posting pics here requires a bit more energy than I currently possess.
