Made a bit of a prototype of a faux bull barrel for my GSG.

Had to make a captivated spring guide in order to eliminate the bushing.

The bull barrel sleeve also serves as an alignment guide for the barrel and slide. There is a very slight shoulder at the muzzle end.

With the bushing gone, I can now think about making a commander lenght barrel/slide.

Still have to test for function however.

Interesting ... lately a buddy and I have been discussing the crappy contact/fit of the stock GSSG barrel and bushing. This has potential.

I hear ya. Basically there is no contact between the barrel and bushing. The barrel is fixed and clamped in place buy that little screw.

ZR tactical makes an "alignment cone". This is a little more involved since it requires a captive spring.

Very Interesting,

I'm interested to see what the functionality is like when it is run through its paces. Good luck and I look forward to seeing the performance.

Not to derail or take away from this unique and cool looking setup, but I also didn't care for that and went with this system from CWA

I put a slight cone on the barrel extension/shoud so that it tightens up at lock up, but still allows the slide to move freely during cycling. Since the barrel dosn't swing down the cone is not as pronouced as other Browning type lock ups.

Thats the plan anyways. Will still have to test it to see if it works.

When I have time I will do a matching SS guide rod.
