i recently bought a gsg 1911 and the mag release button almost immediately lost tension and flops from side to side. the mag will stay put if if i tilt the gun to the left and insert it, but it dislodges easily and doesn't feel very secure. anyone know what the problem might be or how i could fix it?

thanks in advance

Recently? back to dealer or Blue Line Activities (or at least an email to Blue Line, a Sponsor here, or post in their section.)

Their service is without par (or maybe some pars, but it's A1).

Remove the catch, disassemble it and thoroughly clean the inside. There may be some residue from the bluing or polishing process.

yeah, take the magazine release out of the frame and see what's up.

if you have a straight edge screw driver, hold gun in your left hand, push magazine release and turn the screw on the other side. and it pops out.

Hello Spitfirefan,

Can you please send us a PM with where you purchased your GSG and the serial number of the pistol? We will get you back up and running shortly, I do apologize for the inconvenience.

Best regards,
Ryan Patterson

all is good now, i just tightened the screw on the right side of the mag release button and it regained tension, i;m going to see if it hold tension, if not i;ll let you know for sure.
thanks!

Spitfirefan, for the record that screw isn't something that "tightens". It is not a regular threaded screw. Instead the head is connected to a half turn toggling action catch. Search on YouTube for "1911 strip" to find a video of what the parts look like. Otherwise you could find yourself rather confused when that "screw" doesn't turn out like a regular screw at some point in the future.
