GSG, Kimber or Chiappa

Send app even without test results ......

"P.S. I'm STILL waiting for the test results from CFO Ontario.
My application has been online from the 24th of Sept and is only
missing the CFO's stamp. And my 1st handgun ---already ordered---
is/will be the Heritage Rough Rider in .22cal"

How are you making out with your application? I'm also waiting for my test results. Did you send in your application without the test results attached then?

Exams 2/3 October. Application Online 24 Sep (Yes, I put the cart before the horse. Not only did I send in my application before my test results but before my tests.)
My license issued today (yesterday, Monday 29th actually.) I should be getting that precious piece of plastic in a week or so.
They (RCMP) told me to panic at the two-week mark.

first choice is a STI Spartan gun with an STI or Kimber conversion kit

second choice is a Norinco 1911 with an STI or Kimber conversion kit

third choice is a GSG 1911 then I'm changing the sights, trigger & main spring housing.

Well I bought a GSG from Dlask with a trigger job very nice still need to field test it. I'm also still getting a 1911 conversion kit to add to my shooting kit.

I have a Browning Buckmark Camper which I am very happy with for .22LR (Blazer Bulk or American Eagle) but after 5 months shooting it I am tempted by a real Colt 1911 Anniversary Edition .45ACP. Any dealers taking orders???
Browning and Colt came up with the 1911 that is why I bought the Buckmark, to get used to the Autoloader pistol..... also it is cheap to shoot. If I get a 1911 I will have to save up to go to the range or get in to reloading. I reload at the range now with Black Powder revolvers (Colt Reproductions) and shoot .44 cal and .36 cal at reasonable cost but even these cost a lot more than .22LR. A percussion cap costs more than .22LR (about 7 cents) then you have powder (about 6.5 cents) and a ball or bullet (about 9 cents) a bit of Crisco (<1cent) so that works out to about 23 cents per round.

Without any feelings (Dlask or Gunnar)

I have heard nothing but good about these two organizations/gentlemen.
They're both offering the GSG 1911 .22cal LR for the same price.
They will both do the trigger adjustment down to 3-4 lbs for a very similar price $60-65. They're both in B.C. Both their GSGs 1911 come with the steel barrel bushing. Both GSGs come with adjustable rearsights.

If both are as nice a people as have been described on various threads I might have to resort to flipping a coin. I certainly do NOT want to start a bidding war for my business; it's only ONE GSG 1911 that I'm considering.. It it were up to me, at this very moment I'd flip a coin and place an order (with 3.5 to 4 lbs trigger job) right now.

I hope I get enough positive (and negative, if any) feedback to make up my mind.

My RPAL was issued yesterday and I'm waiting for the mailman.

The CFO(Ontario) has agreed to issue (when the time comes) ST-ATTs from my place of work to home. The one thing I do not want is Canada Post leaving a parcel in front of my apartment door which is right next to the elevators on my floor and where I've had a couple of [supposedly] signed for parcels (thankfully books) disappear.
Gun cases, gunsafe (bolted to wall), trigger locks, padlocks have all been purchased and are waiting,

So, will fellow CGNers help me flip that coin? (Sorry, I can't afford to buy one from each.) I won't start an official poll. Whoever does not want his personal recommendation kept private, is welcome to pm me.

Good night

Well I just bought a GSG last week and I was about to drop more cash on the Kimber .22 conversion kit as well. but then it just hit me..... :HR: why buy a kimber kit when I could buy another GSG for an extra $30 bucks. So no more conversion kit for me.

I have a Sig P229 and is a nice gun. They make other models in .22cal (I don't mean the Mosquito).
Introducing the new SIG SAUER Classic centerfire pistols in .22LR Rimfire models. The same Classic pistols that have been used by civilian, law enforcement, and military personnel the world over, can now have these same models factory built in .22LR. The SIG SAUER® Classic .22’s are built on the same frame as their centerfire counterparts. All Classic .22’s feature the same SIG SAUER Four-Point safety system which employs a decocking lever, a patented automatic firing pin safety block, a safety intercept notch, and a trigger bar disconector. The new machined slides also feature a front sight adjustable for drift and a rear sight adjustable for both windage and elevation.

With the purchase of a new SIG SAUER Classic .22 shooters can now enjoy hours of serious training at the range for a fraction of what they would pay practicing with full recoil centerfire rounds. SIG SAUER Classic .22’s are shipped in a lockable case with one 10-round magazine.

The MSRP for the Classic P220, P226 and P229 is $608.00.

Be sure to check out the new SIG SAUER X-CHANGE Kit™ is the perfect accessory for your SIG SAUER Classic .22 rimfire pistols. Now shooters can add SIG SAUER centerfire performance with just the change out of the slide assembly, barrel, recoil system, and magazine to the standard .45 caliber production pistol. Exchanging components does not alter the reliability or accuracy of either assembly.

Owning a SIG SAUER Classic .22 and a centerfire X-CHANGE Kit provides the added benefit of owning two pistols in a single premium package. More shooting at a lower cost with the full size SIG SAUER pistol you’re accustomed to; the SIG SAUER Classic .22 caliber pistols that now include the option for centerfire performance with a SIG SAUER X-CHANGE Kit.

Ordered a 1911 with trigger job from armco, and once they were in stock, I received it quick.

Ordered 1911 mags from dlask and they were in my mail box within a week.

They are both excellent

$608 is the MRSP, whats the price in Canada?

EDIT: Epps has the P226BR CLASSIC 22 for $672, 90 bucks more then the most expensive mosquito

I was at Epps today and was told they didn't have any more of the Classic .22s - I ended up walking out with a .22lr conversion kit for my P226. It's a nice unit, the whole gun is worth the $$ if you're into SIGs
