Blue line will be importing the GSG MP40 and Mp44 once they begin production later this year. We are currently working with the CFO to have the firearms approved

Stg 44 new squirrel gun yay

I don't want to be a turn down guys but if this is like the Sport System Dietrich, your in for a surprise. The SSD BD-44 I got was 3000$ and it was a big disappointment : the stock was cracked, the fit of the stock to the rear most metal part holding the stock was poor and I had to do a Dremmel job on the pin which locks the top and lower receiver together to be able to easily pull it out as on a AR-15. Thanks to Marstar cooperation (that time) we got things changed/fixed.

IMO, with the work and material involved, this StGw should not cost the customer more than 1500$ maybe 1700$ at most, given the rarity and appeal of this landmark firearm (i.e. it can be a seller's market driven price). I hope for your sake that I'm wrong. But if I am, my BD-44 just lost 50% of it's value. By comparison, the Lee Enfield (M10 No.4/IV and M10-A1) I purchased from Wolverine and which are manufactured by Australian Arms International are outstanding in quality, finish and accuracy, each for less than 800$. What makes the difference is obviously a strong commitment to the customer from AAI, something Sport System Ditrich has proven to completely lack.

Don't let your self be fooled: there are scrap dealers in Germany too. I recommend you examine one before purchasing or wait to read a favourable report from a member, before coughing out that kind of money.

Aber was für ein schön Waffe! Every time I open the gun safe, I can't help but take it in my hands.

If you can't see it in the photo...

Stg. 44 - MSRP $599.95
Expected dealer price $459.00

MP40 - MSRP $439.95
Expected dealer price $335.00

So not bad prices at all...I expect we should see them north of the boarder for well under $750.00 each. These will be great little .22 plinkers:)

Any word on the mag cap?

It should be a lot less than $750, those dealer prices in the pic are for single units, volume pricing is lower than that. So it should be relativily the same, since these should not be coming from the US, but direct from GSG. I'm sure Blueline will update this thread with the expected Canadian MSRP.

It's a little weird that they are referring to the MP40 as the "Schmeisser".

Hugo Schmeisser had no involvement in the design of the MP40, but had a lot to do with the development of the Stg44.

Something tells me that these are going to be in high demand.

While the MP 38 was developed by Heinrich Vollmer of Erma from the MP 36 prototype, the "Schmeisser" nickname has persisted to this day for the MP 38 and MP 40.

I suppose that one possible source of this error is that Louis Schmeisser developed the original SMG, the MP 18, and Allied military intelligence during WWII mistakenly applied the name to the MP 38/40, not knowing any better.

This rings a bell--I think you are quite right--Nevertheless, there is just something "Schmeisser-ish" about that MP 40....

.22 LR, not 7.92x33

FIOU! You got me worried there for a minute, before I noticed buda mentioning "... great little .22 plinkers." .22 LR? You can keep it. I stopped picking up green apples when I left the farm.

The BD-44 is in 7,92x33mm (8mm kurz), the original Polte developed round.

GSG only makes .22's....you want one in the oringal cal then your gonna pay 3x as much or more.

Who would have Guesses that firearms shown in the RIMFIRE section, would be RIMFIRES?

That aside, I would be interested in the 44, pretty sweet looking.
