I'm looking for a new holster and was thinking about fobus but I'd like to see one before I buy. Are there any dealers in the GTA?

Fobus holsters are mediocre at best. Is your gun?

Spend a bit more and get something better. Bladetech is just a bit more $ but is miles better.

Do not buy a fobus. You probably spent between $500 and $1000 on the gun. Don't skimp now on the thing that is going to hold that gun to your body.

The following companies make good, cheap, holsters, available fast:

Blade-tech
Praetor Defense
Safariland

Spend an extra twenty and get something decent.

Or spend an extra forty, and have a custom kydex rig made up. I use Atomic Dog but there are loads of kydex makers now...Cane and Derby had pretty short waits last time I looked.

For mag pouches, the best deal going is Kytex Shooting Gear...they are not fancy but they hold a mag as well as anything and they're about ten bucks.

But don't waste your time with fobus. Buy right, buy once.

I use a fobus sometimes, I have found for idpa it is sufficient. I prefer my comp-tac and raven concealment holsters, but it is not like a fobus holster is going to melt your gun.

I've never understood the "$1000 gun/ooh, $100+ for a holster no, thanks. I'll take the cr@ppy $30 one." mentality.

Akin to an NC star on a Sako..

Please educate me. What makes the Fobus so bad? People say that all the time on here, but I don't fully understand.

Is this just a preference akin to saying that a Busse is better than a Mora? Or a Smart Car is useless and a F-250 is what you need to have?

Does the Fobus have poor finishing? Poor retention? Poor ergonomics? Does it depend on what you intend tp use the holster for? I'm sure that the IWB paddle style is not a speed holster for competition, but for walking around the range with my pistol it should be fine.

Thanks in advance for the information.

Trying to learn,

To be fair, I don't know anything about the holster in question, but I do enjoy my bladetech holster. Works exactly as described.

Also, if you want a Smart Car over an F250 you are Nucking Futs! :p

Does the Fobus have poor finishing? YES Poor retention?YES Poor ergonomics?PERSONAL PREFERENCE Does it depend on what you intend tp use the holster for? NOT TO ME IT DOESN'T, QUALITY IS QUALITY

Also, careful to the post that said to order straight from Israel, that is where fobus is made...
