Does anyone know what is going on with the ban or new regulations that are trying to be enacted? for anyone who doesnt know we had a few weeks of BAD publicity for hunters in my area.these incidents all made the paper. some lady walks to work from out in the country and her dog follows her half way, when the dog turned back after a few minutes a shot rang out, the dog was hit just behind its frontlegs (it lived)2 when that was published some dud from the same area says he was walking along near that road on a trail, shots rang out over his head, he inspected the area later and people were doing target practice. 3 around the corner from my house there is a no-leash dog trail, around some factories. some of those factories had pest problems so they called in a trapper; some lady was walking her jack russel and heard a yelp, her dog was in cought in a body vice and shortly died. people are calling for the trappers to use more humane traps?!?! or even live traps!!! I dont trap but im sure niether of those would be succesful, my 2 cents

Council is not considering new regulations in Puslinch. They were petitioned by the people who'd lost animals and the Animal Alliance. These folks have also met with Guelph Eramosa council to demand a hunting/trapping ban.

From my discussions a couple of councillors I don't think it's going to go too far in Puslinch but it is worth RESIDENTS sending a letter or calling a councillor.

This is NOT a request for people who live outside the area to send letters in. One of the more effective arguments with the council is that the people demanding the ban don't live here. Township council is not very receptive to people who aren't residents and ratepayers telling them what to do.

Seems to be a bunch of city folk have moved into the country and want the best of both worlds. The Eramosa anti's managed to get Sunday shooting banned at GRGC. Someone there is has the money, connections and motivation, to impose their "city slicker" ways :(  .

Thanks for the good info, on a lighter note My buddies fammily owns a ton of mink farms all along guelph lake, if they banned trapping in guelph we would be overrun for sure! those little bastards are escape artists to say the least.
