Guess that gun!

my dad was cleaning out one of his gun safes and he decided to gift me his old 22

i figure id strip it down and start from scratch and rebuild it.

i havnt seen many of these around, but then i havnt been looking.
was wondering if anyone has a guess as to what it is?

i know, but i looked at the barrel.

i was gonna say a cooey, i have a cooey model 39 similar to that. same bolt. yours just has a fatter stock to it

Front sight on that 82 was replaced also.

ya its a chopped Cooey 82
one of the Military Trainer ones, stamped on the bottom.

my grandfather used them for training for WWII and he picked one up sometime around around WWII then give it to my dad back in the 60's who has now given it to me.
thing is filthy dirty!

im gonna take it down to nothing and start from scratch and clean it up.

i have fond memories of shooting gophers in the 80's when i was young with my Ruger 10/22 and my dad using that beast!
youd hear me going bam... bam... bam, bam, bam bam
then youd hear him ker-THUMP

then we would look for another gopher.
