I think it's high time for an official Guide Gun forum so you's fellers can all go and get you're fuzz warmies there.

You guys are worse (more sickening) than the Short Mag guys. :D

If you really want to join the club Paul, all you had to do was ask ;) I have just the thing for you

Paul, it is time to post the pic of your Dad standing by the shed with that cool rifle. We have to keep things balanced around here!

I have to admit, Dave 45-70 was kind of fun to shoot, and I was suprised how well it groups with Mr. Keith's favorite load too.

I know SC wants to get rid of all those pumper dumpers and get into a nice Marlin lever gun.:D Superdude, you should have spoke up when mine was for sale on the EE forum.:shotgun: But it only took about 6 minutes to sell, so you will have to type faster next time.:p

OK, confession time ..........

I have had secret thoughts in the past for a Marlin 45/70, but not in the GG configuration. The 22" blued job and the stainless ones are the one I like. I actually fondled a stainless/laminated at WS a couple of weeks ago when I was in Edmonton.

I feel so dirty.

The truth comes out. Close the closet door, quick :D

SuperCub please buy a Marlin Guide Gun. Show us pictures of it and we can all discuss bullets, loadings, target shooting both long range and short, hunting applications and trophies etc.

But take that plunge and get the Guide Gun. You will NOT regret it. It is a sculpture in blue or silver metal that you can take with you into nature and use. the most practical rifle to have in my opinion.
Oh, and make it a 45-70 Government caliber.
