I got a pretty good group with the 45-70 Guide Gun today, a triangular 3 shot group of 3 at 185 yards. The first 2 shots were one inch from center to center and the 3rd shot was 1&5/8ths of an inch. The fourth shot was a flyer that opened the group to about 3 inches. The load was 36 grains of IMR 4198 under a 420 grain Doug Green gas checked cast bullet lit up with a Federal LR primer.
I have the GG scoped with a 4x Bushnell Scopechief VI .
In a couple of days when we get some sun I'm going to try out the new 520 cast bullets out at the same distance................
