Guide rod question

I bought a spring and rod from Stoeger. Says compatible with full size 92 pistols. The rod is too short for my 92S (full size Italian Police variant). Anyone know if there's a solution? Can I match up a rod from another make/model so long as it is the same length? See pic for size comparison. The longer one is the original from my 92S.

I think you ended up with a Pre-Series L Compact Beretta 92/96 guide rod. Measure 4.7” in length.

Full-Size 92/96 guide rod measure 5.9”.

Options: Wilson Combat, SKU 670, steel full size Beretta 92/96 fluted guide rod.

Thanks Easy for the reply. I got a proper one from Double Tap Sports in Mississauga. They don't know what one I could have got from Stoeger. But either way, returning the one to Stoeger tomorrow.
