Guilty as charged

What do you want to do with it? A .22 nice lever action would look good next to that revolver in your avatar

The CZ452 and CZ453 are nice bolt actions if you want to go that route. I guess it depends how much you are willing to spend on a .22.

X2 on the lever. I hate the 10/22....and everything it stands for. It's just the honda civic of the rimfire world. slap a big ass tailpip...er....mag on it and be cool.

Now a quality pump or lever...ahhh, now thats classy.
Here are my choices-
The "budget" choice: Rossi model 62 (copy of the winchester)
The "Bling" choice: The henry with the brass reciever
The "Classy" choice: Browning BL22 Gr. II
The "Classic" Choice: Original Winchester 62a (I have an extra I could part with.......;) )

God willing, ill have my mitz on her tomorrow

But... if those idea are too much on the "evil" side for your taste. I'd go with what a Mausermike and Wrongway said. Can't go wrong with a nice lever action. That's my next .22 purchace :)

Get yourself a good (used of course, unless you strike it lucky) single shot bolt action Cooey. The rifle that almost every Canadian in the last 50 years has learned how to shoot with.

He speaks the truth. you can find them crazy cheap and they are addicting to shoot. You can shoot short, long and long rifle. Can't beat a single shot Cooey, a brick of .22 short and a self re-setting target.

I agree, I got very bored of my 10\22 and sold it. I bought a spec ops stock for my 870 and a Cooey 39 as well and still had some extra cash.

I love my Ruger 1022 stainless and so does the Old Lady so I just might have to get a nice lever or pump to keep from fighting over it. Marlin lever would be real nice. See what I find in Kamloops at the show. Never know what will show up. Had a 223 follow me home last year. THAT was not planned. Rules the gun cab now. Lots of 22cal to choose. 223 rocks but 22lr is fun too. Happy shopping. Though everyone I know with guns has a 22 something.

I would add the Marlin 39A and Winchester 9422 to the "Classy" list. In the case of the Marlin, arguably classic as you don't get much more classic than a rifle that is nearly unchanged in 100 years of production. (Marlin 1897, 39, 39A)

For me, the Marlin is a man-sized rifle, the BL22 just feels like a toy to me. 19 rds of .22LR down the tube and you're good to go.

In "budget", Ithaca made some decent plain jane .22 lever rifles as well - same design as the Henry.

Why get a .22? Got 1 and its collecting dust. My boy doesn't even like to shoot it since the 17 came to the family!!!

IMO - if you only have one rimfire, a regular .22LR is the way to go. .17HMR is a lot more expensive to shoot and I find that little bullet to be extremely difficult to shoot when the wind is blowing. I much prefer the .22WMR but I'm thinking more and more that I can probably reload .223 for a fraction more cost.

I deliberately left the Marlin out for his own good. You know what Marlin .22's lead to don't ya?.......bigger Marlins. Oh sure, it starts with a 39, then a 336 30/30.....fast forward a couple years, and you spend hours and hours and hours looking for a 336 in .219 zippper, then sleepless nights trying to find an ER in .356......then once you have those? Well then you need to get 97's for the collection.........

But I can stop! I can stop whenever I want! really........

Mine was the model 600, tube fed with the rabbit on the pistol grip.
I've had it for almost 30 yrs now, and it was a "hand-me-down".
It is still the most accurate .22 I own. ;)

OOooooohhhhh Marlin.....Got one now and I think I need another.Mebbe I can convince the Old Lady it would be real easy for her to shoot.... But in my usual fashion I am doing it backwards-already got the big one now I want a 22lr. Kamloops show may bear fruit.
