Hey guys

So I just found out I am going to be posted to vancouver island soon and I was looking at the regs and saw no bag limit or species license requirements for fallow deer on the gulf islands.

So my questions are:

Are these deer any good to eat?

And which of the islands would be the best place to go to hunt them?

Thanks!

From what I understand:

Awesome eating, delicate meat and if well fed on farm product can get to a fair size. (Note fair size 'island standards'.)
They are on one island mainly, which is all private land, and the hunting is controlled by those land owners so you need to be part of that syndicate.

Good luck.

Candocad.
