Gun Auction , Edmonton,Oct25-26, lots of neat Milsurps & militaria, Wards Auctions

Lots of neat milsurp rifles at this auction,, Lee Enfields, full wood M10 Ross,German G41 semi auto, rare, M1 garand, M1 carbine, Bren gun, Mauser, Italian rifles, Lebel full wood, handguns, also sporting and hunting guns .

I tried to insert link to auction site, but no luck, maybe a CGN has better luck than me in getting the link to the site to work,.. Wards Auctions is the name of the auction company selling these milsurps on Oct 25-26

Didn't see the Bren in there? C/A like the rest?

The 1905-E sporter looks really nice, although it is listed as re-finished in the serial database.

Was this one collection or a number of them?

Yeah the Bren is a CA, along with the BARs and FN. Some surprising guns in the mix, like the GrB/PzB39. I would like to attend, but sitting through all the lots of Nazi junk, watches, shoes and dresses makes me think it would be a looooong weekend.

The 26% fees for absentee bidding (23%) plus paying with a credit card (3%) could really add to the cost.

It was great when Bud Haynes was in Red Deer , they merged with Wards ,but the buyers premium has gone up !!! from 10%
to
18% Buyers premium applies on most sales
-discounted to 15% for Cash, Debit and Email Transfer payments.
23% Buyers premium applies when bidding online
-discounted to 20% for Cash, Debit and Email Transfer payments.
add gst and its getting expensive .
a guy could spend a lot of money there for sure

A number of those guns have sold locally over the last few years...

So...anyone going to attend the event who can provide an after-sales update on prices realized?

you will find out after. they list price realised . of course the price realised at sale is only 3/4 of what is costs 2/3 if you bid on line !!!!!!
I only been there once after Bud Haynes merged ,its a Pain having to spend night there , or 2 because this is a 2 day auction .
Maybe the auction buisness is something to get into , i think the seller only gets 65% of hammer price

I've wanted a Persian 98/29 (Lot 157) for a long time. Probably the apex of craftsmanship for mausers. That one's in so-so condition however.

Yup...miss the good old days...30 min drive from home and go home with the trunck full of "treasures"...no gun license required or buyers fee:)

I started going to the sales when they were held in an old grainery down in the industial area down by Union Tractor, Bud and the girls stood on a couple of elevated 2x10's and when you bought something, it was handed hand over hand thru the crowd until it got to the buyer.

Indeed, the condition on most things, including two I would like leave a lot to be desired at the expected prices, still, sandpaper and cold blue are cheap...LOL
