Gun Blue Pen on M&P 9

Hey All,

Really quick/simple question that my google-fu can't answer for me.

While installing my APEX CAEK on my M&P 9 I might have put a couple of small scratches on the rear sight (stock) and was wondering if that's something a guy could correct with the use of a Gun Blue Pen.

The package of the Gun Blue Pen (Brichwood Casey) I have says:
'Use like a marking en for one coat coverage on non-stainless steels'

Is this safe to use on the slide of an M&P?

SOB ... any ideas how i could fix up the scratches?
At the end of the day the gun still works so i'm not too concerned about it but it would be nice if i could fix 'em up.

Black permanent marker? It will blacken the scratch and then you could use solvent on a small cloth to clean the excess around the scratch. Just a thought.

I did something similar. The finish on the slide is really tough. Are you sure its a scratch? When I dropped a friends it took the finish off a table and put it on the gun. I thought it was scratched but in fact it was not and I cleaned it off with solvent.

If it's the sight, then you could use a blue pen, or a black magic marker - the Novak sights are carbon steel.
